This beautiful manual wind ‘Tank’ Ref 7900 wristwatch by Universal, Geneva with rare Malachite dial is such a treasure. The dial is a wonderful brilliant bright green and it features matching white hands to the Universal signature on the dial.
The solid yellow gold case measures a neat 22 × 28mm in size and features the original and unusual green cabochon winding crown. it is in good vintage order and no visible marks or cracks to the dial, and runs well when wound.
Universal is probably about to undergo something of a renaissance after its recent acquisition by Breitling, but the brand has always produced some of the most coveted and varied pieces in the wristwatch world - the Gerald Genta designed Polerouter, the Compax and tri-compax models are but a few examples, so I am delighted to list such a special piece from this historic brand on the site.
